Legislators who voluntarily give up pension benefits are bad?

A Cook County Commissioner says those who refuse to accept a pension shouldn't be representing us.

A small but growing number of Illinois legislators have voluntarily refused to accept pension benefits.  That's a BAD thing, according to Cook County Commissioner Larry Suffredin.  At the community forum on pensions held on February 4 in Wilmette, he explained that giving up their pensions means they don't believe in the current pension system and we don't want such people in Springfield.  Yes, he really said that.
