The unique cuisine at this eatery was created 16 years ago by its Ethiopian owner, who wanted to introduce his own culture to Chicago. Since then, Addis Abeba (named after the country's capital), has been serving up authentic Ethiopian dishes to its loyal customers. Individuals order in a group to soak up seasoned split peas and cinnamon-spiced ground beef with spongy injera bread, a traditional and silverware-free dining custom. The Ethiopian decor and throw pillows complete the experience, and customers can finish off a meal with traditional coffee or caramel cream.
