Paul Anderson started this Southern-style chain in Hyde Park in 1994. A quick hit, Dixie Kitchen was among the top 10 new restaurants in Chicago Magazine only a year after it opened. Now in Evanston near Northwestern University, the themed restaurant offers a unique ambiance and carefully researched authentic recipes for comfort foods like jambalaya and fried chicken. Evanston is the only location to offer breakfast seven days a week and a weekend brunch. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and drink specials are also featured during specific hours. Delivery is available to surrounding areas from Wilmette to Rogers Park.
