UPDATE: See Who Won Patch's Athlete of the Week

With 40 votes in the comments, Glenbrook South's Jen Zucker is the Athlete of the Week. Zucker gave up only two hits while striking out 13 batters in Glenbrook South’s 10-0 victory over Wauekgan. Zucker will be attending Beloit College, a DIII school in Wisconsin, next season. HONORABLE MENTION Jake DeRousse, junior, baseball, Glenbrook North – DeRousse threw a no-hitter against Maine East, leading the Spartans to a 10-0 win in five innings. He had 10 strikeouts in the victory as the Spartans improved to 5-2 in the CSL North.   Matt Kollada, junior, baseball, Deerfield –Kollada had the game-winning hit against Highland Park last week. Kollada ripped an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to give the Warriors their second CSL North …

With 27 votes in the comments, Glenbrook North's Luke Jacobson is the Patch Athlete of the Week. Jacobson led the Spartans to a first-place finish in the Brother Rice Smack Attack. He had 13 kills in the championship game against Lincoln-Way East, a 25-22, 27-25 victory.  HONORABLE MENTION Kyle Colletta, junior, baseball, Niles West –Colletta pitched a five-inning complete game against Evanston in an 11-1 win or the Wolves. He allowed only one unearned run and had six strikeouts on the mound. See who won the Athlete of the Week this time around.

With six votes in the comments section, New Trier's Maddie Mulford won Athlete of the Week. Mulford scored the only goal in New Trier’s 1-0 victory over Jacobs in the Sweet 16 of the Pepsi Showdown on Thursday. Mulford received a pass from Rachel Shellenback and slipped it past the keeper off the right post for the game-winner early in the second half. HONORABLE MENTION April Cronin, junior, girls soccer, Glenbrook South – Cronin scored two of Glenbrook South’s four goals in a 4-0 victory over Oswego in the Pepsi Showdown. The Titans haven’t had much offense this season, but moved to 5-3-4 on the season with the win. UPDATE: See Who Won Patch's Athlete of the Week

This baseball pitcher has been on fire as of late, and it looks like he's also this week's Athlete of the Week.

With 118 votes in the comments,_ Glenbrook North’s Brad Margolin was the runaway winner. Also, a special thanks to our readers for the record 181-comment-votes. Margolin pitched a complete game and allowed only two hits, but was the tough-luck loser in Glenbrook North’s 2-1 loss to Francis Howell North. The Spartans held the lead into the sixth inning, but committed a handful of errors that gave Francis Howell North late opportunities HONORABLE MENTION Izzy Bergman, freshman, softball, Evanston –Bergman went 4 for 4 at the plate with 2 runs scored, 2 RBIs and 2 stolen bases in Evanston’s 11-1 win against Taft in five innings. UPDATE: See Who Won Patch's Athlete of the Week

This Athlete of the Week winner scored 42 goals during his hockey season.

With 8 write-in votes, Deerfield's Mike Wiggemansen was named the Athlete of the Week. Wiggemansen scored an overtime goal to give Deerfield a 5-4 victory over Wheaton Warrenville South and their second consecutive White Division championship. Wiggemansen had 42 goals on the season and had two goals in the championship game. HONORABLE MENTION Allie Managlia, junior, softball, Evanston – Managlia pitched a five-inning shutout to give the Wildkits their first victory of the season in a 12-0 win over Payton.
