This week, Evanstonians voted that the Yoga-inspired athletic apparel company Lululemon Athletica and the outdoors-gear store Uncle Dan’s Camping & Travel were the two best sporting goods stores in Evanston. In our latest installment of our Readers’ Choice series, Lululemon and Uncle Dan’s tied, each taking in a quarter of the 32 total votes, while Turin Bicycle finished slightly behind, garnering 21 percent. Admittedly, the results to this week’s contest likely reflected what hobbies residents preferred, as many of the Evanston’s eight sporting goods stores specialize in selling equipment for specific activities (cycling, yoga, underwater, dance, running, squash or outdoors).
