Your Turn: Vote for Patch Athlete of the Week

The nominees for Athlete of the Week: New Trier's Maggie Lyon, Deerfield's Zach Cole, Niles West's Ryan Miller, Niles North's Billy Voitik and Highland Park's Jake Zuckerman.

More than 300 votes were cast last week and Glenbrook South's Molly McDonagh claimed the title of Athlete of the Week. The nominees for Patch Athlete of the Week, Jan. 16 - Jan. 22: Zach Cole, senior, boys bowling, Deerfield – Cole took third place at the sectional championships with a 1332 in his six-game series. The senior led Deerfield to a third-place team finish and qualified as an individual for the state championship. Cole averaged a score of 228.36 in the Northern Illinois Boys Bowling Conference this year. (Watch a video of Cole, perfect game, here.) Grab & Go Kids Planner

Check out five activities you can do with your kids this weekend in Evanston.

The Wiz In its 60th annual production, Brillianteen, a student theatre group under the McGaw YMCA, will perform The Wiz at King Lab School Auditorium for the next two weekends.  Bring your family to the classic fairy-tale recreation of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz with rock music.
