Brothers K Wins Best Coffee Shop in Evanston

Evanston has lots of coffee shops to choose from, but only one garnered 49 percent of the votes in our Readers' Choice poll on best coffee shop in town: Brothers K.

Brothers K beat out more than a dozen other Evanston cafes to win the honor of best coffee shop in town in our Readers' Choice poll. Among the 75 people who voted, 37, or 49 percent, rated Brothers K as their top choice.  Earlier: What's the Best Coffee Shop in Evanston? "Several years ago a friend of mine and I started meeting at Brothers K Sunday mornings when it opened to play cards and relax," commented reader Mr. D. "Now there are several of us that meet up every Sunday morning when it opens and we play cards until noon. Some member of our group come in from Highland Park, Des Plaines, and Mt. Prospect, but we have never thought about changing venues. Brothers K is that good!" Reader Ron Mills said Brothers K had won his heart, too. "…

The Tanners Redefine a 'Full House'

An Evanston couple relocates to Argentina for fresh perspective, bilingualism and new ideas.

This week's Patch Portraits also highlight one Wilmette couple closing their grocery's doors after 54 years, and Des Plaines' dance studio owner for more than two decades. In late August, Tim and Courtney Tanner packed their bags, waved goodbye and left Evanston with their 15-month-old daughter, Sojourner. The young family plans to work on an organic farm in the foothills of Argentinian mountains, through a program called World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms, or WWOOF. Earlier: Check out all the Patch Portrait archives. Both adults made sacrifices in exchange for the opportunity to live, work and experience challenges together. Find out why in the Patch Portrait video.

.....I just paid $22.87 for an iPad2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $ 38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $675 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, Tag Cent.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=   more ›
