The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Evanston Police Department:  Man Pointed Weapon at Victim, Police Say Thomas Wendell Haywood, 47, of the 1400 block of Pitner Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault at his home after he pointed a weapon at his victim at 12:39 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, according to police.  Man Charged With Battery On Oakton Carl Point du Jour, 40, of the 200 block of Custer Street, was arrested and charged with battery after he grabbed his victim, then threw him to the ground at a gas station in the 2400 block of Oakton Street at 2:14 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, police reported. Arthurs, 33, of the 1800 block of Brown Avenue, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct at 10:40 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, in the 1800 block of Brown Avenue, police reported. Don't forget the people who leave their bicycles unlocked on their front lawns, where they frequently get stolen. I saw that a lot during the summer. Or the people who have literally left their keys in their cars, and then their cars get stolen. That stinks!   more ›

They found someone hiding behind a vehicle, briefly chased him on foot and took him to the station, according to police. Man Strikes Victim in the Ear A man hit his victim in the right ear in a battery in the 100 block of Elmwood Avenue between 9 and 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, police reported. Aggravated Assault and Telephone Harassment Ginny Narula, 46, of the 1200 block of Oak Avenue in Evanston, was arrested and charged with telephone harassment, aggravated assault and two counts of disorderly conduct in the 1200 block of Oak Avenue at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 30, according to police.
