Community Health Center Opens in Evanston

Funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and NorthShore University Health System, the Erie Family Health Center will serve Evanston and Skokie residents.

Local officials, including Evanston Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl and Skokie Mayor George Van Dusen, held a ribbon cutting for a new community health center in Evanston Monday. Operating temporarily out of the Lorraine Morton Civic Center at 2100 Ridge Ave., Erie Family Health Center Evanston/Skokie is one of 219 community health centers funded under President Obama’s Affordable Care Act this year. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will provide a $650,000 annual operating grant, while NorthShore University HealthSystem has committed $600,000 in operating support over the next three years and $1.2 million toward opening a permanent location, according to a press release from Erie. Erie Family Health Center is Hiring in Evanston

Opening in the Lorraine H. Morton Civic Center this fall, Erie Family Health Center is hiring a nurse, dental assistant, dentist, family physician and medical assistant, among other positions.

Evanston Wins Federal Funding For Community Health Center

With the help of a $650,000 yearly grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, a new health center will serve Evanston’s low-income, underinsured or uninsured populations.
