Powerball Jackpot Hits $500 Million
Wednesday’s jackpot could go up even higher, lottery officials said.

The jackpot is now $500 million and may grow larger before the drawing at the end of the day Wednesday, lottery officials said. “When (the jackpot) is this large, it’s not unusual for the jackpot to go up. I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets pumped up again,” said Chanele Newton, a Northstar Lottery Group spokesman. Northstar runs the Illinois State Lottery.
