Police arrested a 33-year-old Evanston man and charged him with several felony counts after they searched his home and found marijuana, “crack” cocaine and $1,200 believed to be from illegal drug sales. Members of the police department’s special operations group executed a search warrant in the 1600 block of Davis Street around 5:35 a.m. Tuesday, according to a release from the police department. Evanston police arrested a 21-year-old Chicago man after they found $8,700 in cash, “crack” cocaine and marijuana in his possession during a traffic stop on Howard Street Saturday afternoon. Patrol officers stopped a car in the 1100 block of Howard Street at approximately 4:50 p.m. Saturday, April 20, for a minor traffic violation, according to a press release from the police department. Police arrested five people and had to put down a pit bull during a search for drugs at two Evanston homes on Friday. Police executed two search warrants simultaneously in the 2000 block of Warren Street and the 1300 block of Darrow Avenue at approximately 11:20 a.m., according to a press release from the department. Detectives from the department’s special operations conducted the searches in conjunction with members of the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Gang Crimes unit, as part of an ongoing investigation of narcotics sales in Evanston. A Rogers Park woman and her son were charged with dealing narcotics after Evanston Police executed a search warrant at their home last Thursday night.
Evanston police charged a Rogers Park mother and son with dealing narcotics after they found cocaine, heroin and cannabis in their home last week, police said. Police obtained a search warrant for the family's home in the 7600 block of North Sheridan Road once they learned that there were drug sales going on there, according to a press release from the police department. Officers executed the search warrant around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, where they discovered approximately 200 grams of cannabis, 5 grams of cocaine and 1 gram of heroin, police said.
