SPACE Wins Best Music Venue in Evanston

The four-year-old music spot narrowly beat out Nichols Concert Hall for best music venue in Evanston in our weekly Readers' Choice poll.

The Society for the Preservation of Arts & Culture in Evanston--otherwise known as SPACE--may be just four years old, but it's already a hit in town. Back in February, SPACE was included on the Chicago Tribune's list of top 20 music venues in the area, along with such venerable Chicago venues as Metro, Empty Bottle and Chicago Theater. And in our weekly Readers' Choice poll, SPACE narrowly beat out the Music Institute's Nichols Concert Hall for best music venue in Evanston. Some 45 percent of readers who participated in our poll voted for SPACE, as compared to the 43 percent who voted for Nichols Concert Hall.  Next week, Patch is looking for your opinion on the best bakery in town. The voting begins at 9 a.m. on Monday.
