Evanston police are questioning several individuals after multiple people reported hearing shots fired near the Fleetwood-Jourdain Center Tuesday afternoon. No victims had come forth as of Tuesday night.
Evanston police say they are questioning four people after multiple callers reported hearing shots fired near the Fleetwood-Jourdain Center Tuesday afternoon. Residents heard what seemed to be gunfire around 3:15 p.m. in the 1600 block of Foster Street, according to police. No injuries were reported to police, and no victims came forward as of Tuesday evening, police said. The incident appears to be gang-related, according to Evanston Police Cmdr. Jason Parrott. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the Evanston Police Detective Bureau at 847-866-5040, or to send an anonymous tip through the police department's text-a-tip program. Two people exchanged gunfire late Sunday night near Emerson Street and Hartrey Avenue, according to police. No victims have come forward, and police do not have any identified suspects.
Two people exchanged gunfire late Sunday night near Emerson Street and Hartrey Avenue in what may have been a gang-related incident, according to police. Police were called to the intersection around 11:36 p.m. Sunday, April 14, after hearing multiple reports of shots fired, according to Evanston Police Commander Jason Parrott. They found 20 shell casings on the ground and five cars and three residences in the area were left with bullet holes. Based on eyewitness reports and the fact that the casings belonged to two different caliber weapons, police believe the incident involved two people shooting at one another, Parrott said. Police took four people into custody for investigation after someone fired a gun at Dempster Street and Fowler Avenue around 7 p.m. Saturday evening, according to police.
Four people were taken into custody after someone fired a gun in west Evanston Saturday evening, according to police. Cmdr. Jason Parrott said officers responded to a call of shots fired at Dempster Street and Fowler Avenue around 7 p.m., where they found a spent shell casing. Parrott said a gun was fired but no one was shot. Police brought four people into custody for futher investigation by detectives in connection with the incident, according to Parrott. No charges had been filed as of Saturday afternoon, he said.
