What's New? Local Finds at 'Found,' a French Bar and a Place to Play

New restaurant and bar The Alcove and a bakery selling Haitian pastries opened for business this summer, while a restaurant called Found undergoes renovations on Chicago Avenue.

The food industry appears to be booming in Evanston this summer. We've rounded up the latest business openings, closings and relocations for our newest column, Comings & Goings, which chronicles the business scene in Evanston. Found Restaurant Appears On Chicago Chicago restauranteur Amy Morton is behind the new restaurant going in at 1631 Chicago Ave. "We find ourselves, we find our food and we find our furniture," Morton told Patch before heading to Indiana to track down a set of vintage chairs for the location.  Including those seats, the decor will be a mix of 1920s and 1950s finds, Morton has told Chicago Magazine, while the food will be "super-local."
