Attempted Burglary Reported At Howard Street Business

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Evanston Police Department:  Attempted Burglary Reported On Howard Someone kicked in the rear door of a business in the 700 block of Howard Street between 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, and 1:45 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, according to police.  Arrests: Retail Theft, Credit Card Fraud, Etc. Aaron T. Mackey, 37, of the 1700 block of Hovland Court in Evanston, and Richard M. McGinnis, 50, of the 1500 block of Darrow Avenue in Evanston, were arrested and charged with retail theft on Thursday, Feb. 7, according to police. Robbers Hit Victim, Steal Earbuds Two men struck their victim in the face, then tried to grab his cell phone at 3:27 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at the intersection of Dempster Street and Dodge Avenue, according to police. The men took off with the victim’s Apple earbuds, police said.
