Evanston Police Arrest Chicago Man With Cannabis, Handgun and $5,000

Evanston police executed a search warrant in Rogers Park and arrested a Chicago man who they say was dealing drugs illegally in Evanston.

Evanston police arrested a Chicago man on charges of dealing marijuana after they searched his Rogers Park home and found 215 grams of cannabis, a .38 caliber handgun and more than $5,000 in cash. Police say they obtained a search warrant for Marwan Rahim, his vehicle and his home, in the 2900 block of West Pratt Boulevard as part of their investigation of illegal drug sales in Evanston, Skokie and Rogers Park. Officers from the Evanston Police Department’s Special Operations Group arrested Rahim, who is 26, and charged him with possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of cannabis, both felony counts. He is also charged with unlawful possession of cannabis and possession of a firearm without a valid firearm …

Police Raid Ashland Ave. House For Drugs, Arrest 3

Evanston police arrested three men on misdemeanor charges of possession of cannabis after searching a home in the 1800 block of Ashland Avenue Wednesday.

Evanston police executed a search warrant Wednesday at a home on Ashland Avenue and arrested three men on misdemeanor drug charges, according to a release from the police department. Neighbors had told police that they suspected there could be drug dealing going on at a residence at 1824 Ashland Ave., according to Cmdr. Jay Parrott. When officers searched the home, they found small amounts of cannabis.  Police arrested three men and charged them with misdemeanor possession of cannabis. Leonard I. Johnson, 70, and Jerome T. Jefferson, 21, both of the 1800 block of Ashland, and Sean C. McClure, 20, of the 800 block of Dodge Avenue, are expected to appear in court July 19, according to Parrott.
