Obama Supporters at McCormick: 'We Know He's Going to Win'
Obama supporters from around the suburbs and the city of Chicago waited to see the president during an election night rally in McCormick Place.
Waiting for the president to arrive at McCormick Place on election night, supporter Ignacio Ayala said he hoped the night would bring some of the same excitement as the rally in Grant Park in 2008. "I hope it's the same," said Ayala, who traveled from Plainfield. "That was big." More than 10,000 people are expected to rally around President Barack Obama as he and his campaign members await election results tonight. Like Ayala, other Obama supporters said they, too, were hopeful that the election results would bring cause for celebration. Biss Wins 9th State Senate District Race
Evanston resident Daniel Biss won against Glenn Farkas.
Updated 10:40 p.m. With only three precincts left to report votes, Glenn Farkas has confirmed he conceded the race to Daniel Biss. “I can’t say that it’s unexpected,” Farkas said in a phone interview. “We came in late, we knew it had been won by Schoenberg in the past.” During a telephone interview, Biss said he was humble and proud that his campaign has been successful. When Will Presidential Election 2012 Results Be Announced?
Illinois voting ends at 7 p.m. But other states, including swing states, have different hours.
Illinois voters have until 7 p.m. to cast their 2012 presidential ballots, but no one is waiting very anxiously to see if our state swings Red or Blue. However, for key swing states, the picture is much different. The earliest key state to watch for is Virginia, where polls close at 6 p.m. central time. Voting ends 30 minutes later in swing states Ohio and North Carolina. At 7 p.m. swing states Florida, Pennslvania and New Hampshire close their polls. Wisconsin polls close at 8 p.m. Nevada and Iowa close their voting at 9 p.m. Check here as Patch updates Election 2012 results as they come in.

Use your address to look up your polling location on the Illinois State Board of Elections website. The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012. Anyone in line to vote by 7 p.m. will be allowed to cast their ballot.
