Rash of Pizza Delivery Robberies Appear Unrelated, Police Say

Evanston police are searching for suspects in three recent incidents where robbers called for a pizza delivery, then stole cash and other valuables from the driver.

Police say they have a lead on a suspect in one of three separate incidents where robbers stole cash and pizzas from delivery drivers in Evanston during the past two weeks. Two men demanded a driver’s money, then stole his cash and a large pizza in the 1900 block of Jackson Avenue on Nov. 4, according to police. On Monday, Nov. 12, two men wearing masks and all black clothing displayed a handgun, then stole cash, a cell phone and pizza from a J.B. Alberto’s delivery driver in the 700 block of Dodge Avenue. And on Tuesday, Nov. 13, three masked men threatened a Sarpino’s delivery driver in the 800 block of Case Street, saying they had a gun and a knife, then stole his cash, wallet, cell phone, keys, and the two pepperoni pizzas he was …

Second Man Charged In Pizza Delivery Robbery, Police Say

Police arrested a second man in connection with a robbery of a Sarpino’s pizza delivery driver that took place Sept. 8.

Evanston police arrested a second man in connection with a robbery of a pizza delivery driver that took place in early September.  Two men held a knife to a Sarpino’s Pizza delivery driver at 3:15 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, then stole two pizzas from the driver, according to police. Officers arrested Terrell L. Farmby, of Evanston, last week, and charged him with armed robbery, a felony. Earlier: Evanston Teen Charged in Pizza Robbery, Police Say Police arrested Kent G. Morales Jr., 18, of the 100 block of Ridge Avenue in Evanston, on Tuesday, Nov. 1. Based on a description of the offenders, detectives say they believe he was the second man involved in the robbery. I would suggest that we just put in an application to build a kiosk that distributes free pizza and iphones to young men who are too lazy to get get real jobs (I think this could actually reduce crime rates in Evanston), but that would be a waste of time since i already know a group of Evanstonians would just band together to block it's construction.   more ›
