We dont necessarily need a world economic outlook to put a real brunt in some of the negatives, My idea Has been told to the mayor other city officials, and people all over this town!! We have an aged housing stock, we have a pool of untrained, semi or low trained people! we have a city that has said to the feds they will reduce the carbon footprint , and we have schools a plenty Why not invite a group such a B.P.I building performance Institute, to do a large group training at a lesser cost, get people certified, so lets say now 20 to 40 at risk young people are Housing envelop specialist, who can insulate, install window, caulk, on n on Now people have issues with just giving money and getting nothing!! Well Evanston WOULD YOU MAKE YOUR HOME MORE ENERGY WISE TO STOP ALL THIS VIOLENCE? and get people involved in a real structured endeavor? I would n I think some if not all of you would, save money save a TOWN!! How hard could it be? not even as hard as these funerals!!

I have tried 4 or 5 times to comment, but here is an idea! I have worked with Evanston disadvantages youth for 30 years. Lets think out the box! Evanston want to be one if not the leader in the green movement in this country. Why not do two things at once? You have an old leaking, energy wasting housing stock and a lost hurting large population of unemployed untrained young adults n teens, Why not insulate your leaking housing stock using your lost and untrained too do it!! You cut your towns cost on so many levels!! The energy cost and the lost people cost. hmmm? how hard could it be to put together, a wealthy lakefront and north Evanston could be the start, then we find some fed dollars to do the rest!! We already know we cant arrest our way to safety!! Just a thought!!

Hopefully Evanston will stand up to it diversified town press releases and helps the black and brown people remain here so some future Black or brown Evanstonian can say thanks for being raised here, if not that would be SAD!!

Whats sad is as always when economic issues worsen it almost always hit and hurts most at the bottom, the face of foreclosure is black and brown! The difference here is it was a theft as African American wealth was cut in half by the shear greed of banks, and other financial institutions! a 100 year old world famous Black community has been decimated by this greed( Evanstons 5th ward) and what do we get in return? the city and developers bragging about the gift of NSP2 from HUD, well has anyone noticed the Blood on the ground of 100s of Black family's that can no longer live here after their elders wiped butts to own the homes that were lost!! What will all this lead too? displacement of guess who?

Ok I have been silent long enough!! My name is Lonnie Wilson and I am the man who brought Dan to the 5th ward, hoping he could help put life and hope back to church and dodge. Let me give a small history lesson! See Dan and the people who helped raise him Bernice Weissborg Have in one way or another put there money were there mouth is, she in Family Focus , He in his endeavours on Church and Dodge. Whats is the variable? THE ECONOMIC Climate!! Dan has done nothing but put more and more of his dollars in my ignored ward! Yes we made some bad decisions some in our choice of directors and in our outreach to the 5th ward community, but to blame BOOCOOS issues on one man or his make up is not true or fair! BooCoos issue are the same as many Businesses right cost and Income! and Its funny you get interviews from people who were at the heart of the some of its failures! And Ill make it a bit wider so no one misunderstands me!! The drive-by diversity sold in Evanston in its PR brochures wont solve the many issue in the 5th ward BOOCOOS just one of many!! YEA I SAID IT!!
