Evanston’s Jobless Rate Highest in 17 Months

Close to 8 percent of Evanston's workforce was unemployed in February, according to Illinois Department of Employment Security data.

 

Evanston’s unemployment rate in February is the highest it’s been in 17 months with around 3,200 people in Evanston’s labor force still searching for work, Evanston Now reported. 

Evanston’s unemployment rate climbed up to 7.7 percent in February, up from 7.4 percent in January and 6.2 percent from a year ago, Evanston Now reported.
