DMK Burger Bar & Fish Bar Coming to Evanston

The Chicago restaurant behind DMK Burger Bar, Fish Bar and Ada Street is opening a location at 815 Noyes St. in Evanston, filling the space vacated by Fraiche.

Chicago's DMK Burger Bar is considering an Evanston outpost, according to city documents.

DMK Restaurants accounting director Jackie Cahan has submitted a special use permit to open a restaurant called DMK Burger Bar & Fish Bar at 815 Noyes St. The new restaurant will occupy a space that has been vacant since the bakery Fraiche abruptly closed last winter

DMK Restaurants co-owner David Morton confirmed that the group is opening a location in Evanston in an e-mail to Patch.

"My business partner, Michael Kornick, and I are both Evanston residents and are very excited to be opening DMK Burger & Fish in the coming months," he wrote.

Morton and Kornick operate DMK Burger Bar, with locations in Lake View, Soldier Field and Lombard, as well as Fish BarCounty Barbecue and Ada Street in Chicago. DMK Burger Bar has won accolades from several publications, was featured on Diner's, Drive-Ins and Dives, and was named among the top 10 burgers in the U.S. this year by Fox News

The burger bar is known for its creative concoctions, like "The Gobbler," a Thanksgiving specialty that combines a turkey patty, mashed potatoes, celery and cranberry relish.
