Personal Training Center Opening in February on Central Street
Orangetheory Fitness will replace Central Street Cafe at 2800 Central St.
A personal training center called Orangetheory Fitness is looking at a February 2014 opening on Central Street, according to employee Adam Blankenship.
The center has applied for a special use permit to operate a franchise of the national chain at 2800 Central St., and council members are expected to discuss the application Monday night. It will replace Central Street Cafe, a bistro-style cafe and retail wine and cheese shop that closed this May.
Orangetheory Fitness will offer one-hour group workout classes focusing on cardiovascular and strength training, according to city documents. The center plans to hire as many as 12 employees, and will operate from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. Most classes will take place in the morning and in the evening.
